Sheepshead are a domestic fish found along the Atlantic east coast and in the Gulf of Mexico, typically caught using a hook and line method. Flavor profile is delicate and distinct in flavor, much like crab or lobster due to their shellfish diet. Sheepshead have tough skin and therefore commonly sold with the skin-off. A white fillet enjoyed seared, pan-fried, baked, or fried holds well in marinades.
