Halibut prices are down and quality has been outstanding. Fresh shipments coming in throughout the week.
Small amounts of fresh rockfish coming up every now and then – with the majority of the fish in the 2-4 lb. range.
Supplies of groundfish including sea bass, spot, spanish mackerel, and blue have been good and prices are fairly steady.
Quality on Bronzino’s has been great, and supplies look to be good throughout the summer.
Overall, the prices on Scallops have been stable. We are in spawning season so make sure you are keeping scallops well iced and at the proper temperatures.
It’s also spawning season for PEI mussels, so make sure you are keeping mussels buried in ice and under strict temperature controls. You can detect spawning by the presence of a thick, light orange liquid.
Live lobster prices have started to creep up and will continue through the 4th of July – normal trend for this time of year.
Flounder prices are still up because of the quota cuts. No clear sight on when they will come back down.
Swordfish prices should stay steady for the next week or so.
